Where do the pigs and lambs come from?

All of the meat is brought from our farm on the outskirts of Buxton, Derbyshire. Our meat is renowned for it’s great quality. You won’t taste better, we assure you!


Do you bring the hog/lamb part cooked?

No – for hygiene and safety, we always cook on-site. It would be illegal and a big health risk to prepare the hog roast any other way.


What about food standards/hygiene?

We are registered with, and inspected annually by, High Peak Borough Council. All our staff are qualified in food hygiene.


What if I don’t want a whole hog or lamb?

If you have a smaller group or you just would prefer, we can provide and cook topside beef joints and legs of pork. When you contact us to discuss your event, we would be happy to provide you with all of the choices available.


What if I can’t decide whether to have a lamb or a hog roast?

Call us and book the date, that’s the important part. Summer events can get booked up early, we can discuss all the other options with you at a later date.


Can I mix and match?

Of course you can! You could have a smaller hog and we could also do a BBQ at the same time. You are always welcome to make any suggestions as we want to work out the perfect package for you and your event.


What do I need to provide?

For a spit roast, we need a level area of 15ft x 10ft. Ideally we would also have a 13 amp power supply but if this is unavailable we have our own generator. We would discuss this with you when you contact us.


How many people will one hog/lamb feed?

It depends how hungry you are! We would normally advise upwards of 60 but we will pick the perfect sized meat to suit your event, whether you need to feed 60 or 200!


How long to prepare and cook the hog/lamb?

We would generally require a 5/6-hour preparation period.


Do you supply drinks?

Yes. We are more than happy to supply teas, coffees and soft drinks when requested.


Do you have insurance?

Yes. We have full public liability insurance for £5,000,000.


What else do I need to know?

A deposit of £100 is required at booking. Free local delivery is included in the price, however, for areas further afield, a small charge may be incurred. If this applicable, we will tell you at the time of booking.
